ROSS Rifles: A Canadian Classic
Просмотров 9 тыс.14 дней назад
Here is a detailed look at a classic Canadian stalking rifle including shooting original 280 Ross ammunition that's OVER 100 years old! I have both a 1905 Ross sporter and a 1910 Ross sporter so we get a great look at them side by side. Ross Rifles are excellent straight pulls. These straight pulls, and especially the 280 Ross cartridge, were definitely ahead of their time. Come see if I like t...
Semi-Auto REMINGTON 8 and 81

Should THIS WINCHESTER Be Restored to Factory Condition?

Let me know what you think. The barrel is still not factory, but I kinda like this one in 7mm Gibbs. I actually found some original Rocky Gibbs ammo so it would be interesting to see it in action. Two of the BEST Bolt Actions EVER MADE

Today I show two of the best bolt action rifles ever - the Sako Finnbear and the Tikka 65. In my opinion, the Sako Finnbear and Tikka 65 are better than most of the rifles made today, and they seem to be available for far less than what one would expect. We also look at a Husqvarna which is my pick for a "Best Buy" rifle. If you are into collecting, or looking for a great hunting rifle, this vi...

After bring it home and attempting to load the firearm I found it unwilling to hold the ammunition ,it kept pushing it back out.Is this a common problem?Is this something I will have to take to a gunsmith or maybe I could fix?

    A remarkably attractive rifle. Utilitarian in appearance but very sleek and the proportions are perfect. The AK's safety lever is remarkably similar to the Model 8's. Regarding your comment on "supreme efficiency" and hunting with god-knows-what - made me think of punt guns. Commonly used in Europe as well as the USA, usually by ordinary folks to put food on the table, although European aristocrats sometimes hunted with punt guns for sport, too. Holland & Holland made punt guns, to their usual high standard of fit and finish. Imagine the expense...

    I’ve seen exactly one Savage .22 Hi-Power in my life. It was a Savage M99, held in the hands of a sales-floor mannequin at BassPro in Manteca California. It’s a shame your gun wasn’t chambered in a less obscure cartridge like a 25-35. Nevertheless, if the price was right, I’d be delighted to own it. Good to see a shooting channel that features classic hunting rifles instead of one more variation of the countless varieties of AR15s. The Czech’s are such imaginative innovators and fine craftsmen that fine gun making must be part of their DNA.

I'm too much involve with the Mausers, especially the Interarms in a .270, just a tackdriver, using a Leupold Scope. I did have a barrel made for it in Oregon at 26.5" a little heavier than a sporter barrel. And another stock by Robert's high cheek comb, rollover. Just a beautiful rifle even though it cost 2k.😊

    Greetings from Slovakia. These go for dirt cheap here. It's an outdated Model also The 100 series 104s and 124s etc. Basically every Hunter and family in czechoslovakia has had one. I have a 7x57r +16ga best for driven hunts. The export models were better made than home sold. Main cons are the heating up of the soldering and basically moving the zero of the rifle barrel after 2-3 shots 😊. One more tip btw you can shoot the rifle barrel also by second pull od the rear shotgun trigger. So basically shotgun barrel rifle barrel second.

    I agree with you that they just don't make weapons like what they used to make, it's all about COST!!! The cost of the materials and of course LABOR has made manufacturers to find more cost effective means of manufacturing weapons!!! They may work but for how long when you use not the BEST which is the most expensive and with less attention to detail because of labor cost have gone BALLISTIC (PUN INTENDED)!!!! I've have a few older rifles and pistols, and I PREFER the older ones over the newer ones !!!! ESPECIALLY when it comes to 22lrs!!! Which I LOVE and have the most of and shoot more often considering the cost of AMMUNITION NOW!!!! THANK YOU SIR FOR ALL YOUR GREAT VIDEOS!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!😊😊😊

    Buy soviet made (USSR) Baikal, between years of 1960-1986. I have IJ27E & IJ58M. My frend have IJ18 and it was made 60's. Cheap, light, trustful and easy clean - not even daily and/or every time when you use it. Just dry, and pull barrels with the boresnake if you shot. Near sea waters corrupted every gun and have to clean and oil every time.Those guns have nickel, and hard crome inside the barrels, silver solders between the pipes, and "old style" black finishing.

  • @frederikr.4983
    @frederikr.4983 3 дня назад

    Some additional information on operating those BRNO ZH guns, because you didn't mention it in the video: - The front trigger can also be used as a set trigger, just push it forward and you get a very light trigger pull. - The rear trigger is a double trigger, if you shoot the lower barrel first and pull the rear trigger a second time it fires the top barrel. And they are quite heavy compared to other combination guns. I have one of those in 7x57R/16ga and an additional pair of 16ga shotgun barrels and I use them as beater guns for hunting. Combination guns lost rapidely in popularity here in Germany since supressors were legalized for hunters. That's why a lot of cheaper combination guns get exported to the US where they can be sold at a higher price.

    Great video as always! I have a ZH304, a newer model but basically the same gun. Great guns and very popular among hunters in my country. They are very solid built guns but the have one weakness - barrels are not chrome lined and they needs to be thoroughly cleaned and oiled after shooting. P.S. Rear trigger fire BOTH barrels, first the bottom and the the top one (like classic OU shotguns).. There was also an option to buy set trigger for this rifle but they are very rare these days and hard to come by.

    Thank you for amazing content! I live in Greenland and I am from Canada. Gun culture here is insane, you can buy a rifle in a GROCERY STORE and you don’t even get them registered (unless it’s a semi-auto which requires a special license) it’s funny that the rifles hang on the wall they are not even locked on the wall you can take it off the wall and look at it and craziest thing is that all the ammo is on shelves right beside the guns (the guns have bolts in them) and you can put ammo in your shopping cart. Just thought I’d share. Have a good one😁
